SOMETHING FOR SHEL

Why?

Why is there a lighthouse,
if you can't see it through the fog?

Why is a dog called a friend,
but a friend not called a dog?

Why is it called a living room,
and also called a den?

Why do people go on vacation,
only to come back again?

Why must we learn how to write,
but then we write to learn?

Why do say "goodbye" when we leave,
but never when we return?

Why do we put windows in our house,
to overlook the street?

Why do we put our feet flat on the floor,
and not the floor flat on our feet?

Why must we pay to go to a college,
to get a job that pays money?

Why do we laugh at a joke, even though
we have no idea what is so funny?

Why aren't meetings right after each other
called sessions in secession?

Why, when we have our questions and answers,
we always have more of the questions?
